Tonya Lambert

Tonya is committed to promoting environmental protection. Winner of the 1990 SaskFuture Essay and Poster Contest, she has written a weekly series on the environment in addition to a children's column for the Kelvington newspaper.
A member of the Sask. Writers Guide she received national acclaim in 1990 winning the essay contest, "Why I love Canada." Tonya has taught piano, organ and theory. She is skilled in a variety of sports and has also participated in multicultural festivals, student exchanges and Youth Parliament.

Kimberley Lemoal

Kim was the chairperson of the 1990 Provincial Student Leadershop Conferrence held at Carlton Comprehensive High School. There she has been president of the SRC and was actively involved with the Model UN, SADD, Peer Counselling, school committees, drama and band. A sports enthusiast Kimberley has a Level 3 referee's certificiate in soccer, is a certified lifeguard and swimming instructor, and figure skating teacher. In her community she has been involved with Brownies, 4-H groups, the Terry Fox Run, Red Cross, Feed the Hungry and SHARE fun Run.

Kari Anna Marken

Kari is a student at Nutana Collegiate. She is a member of the SRC, and has also been actively involved in the organization, Saskatchewan Students for Environmental Protection. Through SSEP she has worked on a variety of programs including an Environmental Forum and a conference on Positive Lifestyles.
Kari is committed to all aspects of environmentalism and ahs volunteered at a food co-operative. She has served as co-editor of an environmental newsletter called "Makin Waves" and she was active in organizing peace rallies during the Gulf War. In her third year volunteering for the Australian Pavilion at Saskatoon Folkfest, Kari was named Youth Ambassador.

Melanie Oliver

In 1990 Melanie received the Anne Portnuff Award for a student at the Yorkton Regional High School who displays leadership among peers and excellence in academics, athletics and fine arts. She was also nominated as Peer Counsellor of the Year at the Provincial Peer Counselling Conference. She was nominated to the MOGA Youth Advisory Committee in Ottawa to help promote fitness among young people across Canada. She was SRC President at Yorkton Regional and prior to that, publicity director, vice president, and yearbook special events co-ordinator. Melanie has been a volunteer at the Yorkton Short Gilm and Video Festival, the Saltcoats Curling Club, a nursing home, and her church.

Shelly Prosko

Shelly was the 1991 President of SADD (Students Against Drinking and Driving) Saskatchewan. She was the founding president of the SADD chapter at Archibishop M.C. O'Neil High School and was instrumental in organizing O'Neil's first chemical free grad party. She also helped organize the national conference in Regina for Canadian Youth Against Impaired Driving; the provincial SADD congerence; the Red Ribbon campaign; Impaired Driving Awareness Week; Provincial Chemical Free Party; and the Michael Buckingham Provincial Tour. Through SADD she has earned the Herff Jones Leadership Award, Merrill Michol Memorial Award, and an Optomist's Club of Regina Award for making an outstanding contribution to the youth of Saskatchewan.

Denise Schreiner

Denise has served as the chairperson of an environmental club called UCEC at Vanier Collegiate. Her presentation to Moose Jaw City Council helped to curtail budget cuts on servral local environmental projects. At school she supervised a blue box recycling program and has been a member of Environmental Youth Alliance.
In May 1991 Denise attended the model UN Assembly in Winnipeg. She has been involved in Saskatchewan Youth for Life and SADD. In 1991 she was the SRC activities director and secretary of the Moose Jaw Multicultural Youth Executive Council. An accomplished academic, Denise received the Moose Jaw Rotary Scholarship for the highest average in Grade 8. She has received honourary mention from the Sask.Writer's Guide and has served as a school reporter for the Moose Jaw Times Herald.
